    Lightbulb 400ex a-arms & shocks on a 300ex

ok..i have 400ex a-arms on my 300ex and early this year it had 400ex shocks on it. The bike looked alittle funny and sat alittle too high. so i bought i a pair of 300ex shocks, put them on ..the bike turned & handled amazing..but the only problem was the ride and clearence. every bump you could feel and just wasnt working out..soo today i put the 400ex shocks back on..now i want it to sit lower..i was thinking lower profile tires?!?!?! any suggestions???

Yeah, here's a suggestion, put your 300EX front suspension back on. And next time you wanna try to make your quad wider and handle better, then get some decent aftermarket +2 or 3 a-arms and a set of shocks. And if you think you can't afford it, then take a look at some Burgard a-arms. They're less than $500, and are excellent quality. You could also get a set of gas emulsion Works dual-rate shocks, or spend a few more bucks and get rezzies. And that would prolly work and handle tons better than that setup you have now.

Junk Burgard arms? Idk what gave you the idea that they're junk. Maybe not that hottest or best arms on the market, but they're still a good product. Talk to most anyone on here, and they'll say they're definitely a good buy. I'm going to be running them on my MX 300. And maybe even when I get the 450R. And I'm not going to be a cheap *** about it either. I'll be running the best shocks I can get from Elka. And just about everything I'm using is what I, and prolly plenty of other people, would feel to be the best parts you can get.

If you wanna buy junk arms, buy that Armadillo or American Star crap. Hell, the guy that makes American Star went out of business once before because of bad products. And the new stuff isn't much better.

Burgard is a top notch company. A friend of mine has been running their A-arms and swingarm for about 5 years and he pounds his 400ex into the ground. Last year he noticed the swingarm was cracked and they replaced it. No questions. No problems. That's the kind of company I want to do buisness with. What is the problem with 400 A-arms and shocks? My quad handles fine. I saw one guy on here saying that there was a problem with bump steer. I haven't had this problem. I raised the rear at the same time I raised the front, maybe that's why. I can see why raising the front by itself might make the front end want to wander. Too much caster?
