    300EX Heat

Is there any way I can make my 2001 300EX run cooler? I've burnt myself on it 3 times while wearing jeans, and I don't think that's right....

its probably normal, unless you're running way lean. are you burning on the pipe or the head? you can get an oil cooler, or get the header hpc coated.

Well.....mine has a heat shield, so I didn't think it should get as hot as it does, but I dunno. It doesn't seem to be burnin the pipe, so I guess it's ok.........I dunno.....lol

I cut the mounts off my stock header and welded them to my supertrapp header so I could use the stock heat shield. Might not be an option if you have a plated or coated header but it worked for me.

OK I already have the stock heatsheild on it, and I was wondering if there's any other way to decrease the heat, or atleast move it away form my legs. I've burnt my leg, through jeans, on it many times and am getting agravated with it. Any Help?

Just ride faster. The wind will keep the heat off your leg.
