I bought a magnum race cam and on the installion intructions is said to check the valve to piston clearance and remove material from piston. Is this necessary with a high compression piston that has the valve slots already cut out.
Thanks Brandon

most people don't do it. it's just to make sure the vavles won't hit the piston. the cam is not made for that one piston, all piston are different. but you should be ok. the first time around turn it by hand to make sure everything is clear.
