    Kodiak starting prob's!!!!electric start?

I have a 01 yamaha kodiak and I am having some problems starting it. The electric starter makes a weird sound when pressed and wont turn the engine over. It dos'nt do this all the time. If it does make the sound, I keep trying and after about 4-5 tries it turns over and starts. The sound is coming from the connection area by the battery. It is kind off hard to explain what it sound like. kind of like a sparking sound, if that makes any sense. Any help would be great. Just wondering if any other people have had this problem.

check your terminals were the cables connect to the battery. It sounds like they could be loose or dirty, and not making good contact.

Sounds like a bad starter solenoid. I had the same thing.
