    how do i tighten my chain on my 400ex?

    how do i tighten my chain on my 2002 400ex? everything is stock still, its loose, and i need to kow how to tighten it? thanks for any help you can give.

    First you have to loosen the four allen head bolts in the back of the swingarm
    Then you will see right to the right of the sprocket,they have this aluminum piece with slots or holes in it,stick a long wrench or screwdriver in ther,and you push it forward to loosen the chain,and pull it back to tighten the chain,after thats all done retighten the allen head bolts and your good to go

    mine must be starting to rust or something because when i do that i just end up messing up the slots. what i have to do is wrap the jaw of a pair of channel locks and grab onto it.

    use a spanner wrench it is what is made for doing it it wors perfect without maring the aluminum

    400ex is suppost to be one of the easiest chains to tighten
