Just got an oil change on my 400ex. I rode it once this week. I am going out tomorrow so I wanted to check the oil tonight. I checked it with the engine off and the dip stick said it was very low. I started the bike, idled for a couple minutes and the dipstick registereed at the upper level. Do I need to put it more oil? or is this normal?
I changed my oil and filter this week and put in 2 qts, which is a hair too much. The manual says to warm the bike for 5 minutes and then check the oil with engine off and level. 10 minutes for winter. Sounds like your good!
