    CDI Box?

I have a quick question. I have a 426 kit and a Curtis Sparks pipe and do a lot of trail riding. The guy I bought my Sparks from offered me a good deal on a CDI. I always thought CDI's werent good cuz when I come down big hills sometimes I just let the big rev out in 2nd gear, if I got a rev box and didn't use the brakes would it blow my engine? Please let me know the pluses and negatives about using a CDI box for everyday riding!

the cdi just changes your rev limit in certain gears, i have had one in my quad since day one and havnt had a problem yet, though mine is still the stock motor. going down hill, just shift into a higher gear.

ahhh no. the CDI doesn't know what gear the motor is in. so it's the same for all gears.

All the CDI does is increase the RPM limit. you should be able to hit the higher RPM limit and not blow the engine. So you should be safe.
