    oem filter on 250ex

    I'm wondering if the oem filters are washable or reusable. Mine is filthy and I'm wondering if I just need to buy a new one or if I can just wash the one I have now. I have a 2002 sportrax 250ex.

    It's re-usable! Just wash it out and re-oil it and you're good to go.

    I take it that you are talking about the oem air filter and not the oil filter, right?

    Note: I would not "maintenance" your oem oil filter, or any oil filter for that matter.

    filter

    Pull the foam filter off of the metal canister and wash it out in kerosene (get some from a COOP that sells fuel) wash it out in some warm soapy water, rinse and let it air dry, reoil it with some foam filter oil and put all back on.
