    Dyno Numbers

What does a stock 400EX dyno at the wheels?
Also what are some good numbers for 416 and 440 kits?
Also give any other dyno numbers and please tell what was done to the ATV.
    Thanks,
    Adam

I know a 400 with a slip on, lid removed and jetting is about 27-28 I think stock is like 25 or 26. I saw the dyno sheets in dirtwheels when the 400 first came out.

you can make about 50 different 416's, 50 different 440's, etc, etc.

there are tons of different parts to build motors with so it could vary a lot.

Thats exactly right. diffrent cams, porting etc.

I dont know if those numbers on the dyno i posted earlier would be anywhere close to how it would be now. Clutch was slipping then and i took care of that, put a new carb on, and had the cylinder decked when my head gasket went last summer. Might have a little more compression now but i think it screwed with my cam timing in the process.

I am just trying to get an idea of what the max HP you can get out of the different kits. I understand there are different ways at approaching things. I just want the information so I know what numbers are reachable.

    K_Fulk:
On your dyno sheet are the numbers that are written in the SAE corrected numbers?

    Thanks,

The written numbers are the torque numbers.

That motor had a 12.5:1 426 with a tc ported head, tc mx cam, 39mm fcr and a sparks pipe.
The clutch was slippping when i rode it then. But I dont know if that translated into the dyno numbers or not.
