    piston rings

    how often do you replace your?

    Or how often do you burn yours out?

    compression test

    I use a compression testser to check and see when i need to re-ring, once it gets to about 150psi I tear it down and go through it.

    Honda trx 250r @ 350cc
    Eddie Sanders 330 bigbore kit, 5mm stroker crank, ESR TRX 5, Centermount pipe and Silencer, Hinson clutch, AC bumper, K&N air filter, +2 lonestar front end, +4 ACE Fabrication swing arm, Lonestar Axle, 40.5mm carb, PRW oversized radiator, Nology profire coil and plug wire, Kenda Radials or 4 SNOWs and RAZR's, 110 race fuel, ported by Neil Pritchard, anything that can be Powder coated is
    -2004 Honda TRX 450 R- high compresion piston, pipe, blingstar bumper and grabbar
    1987 Honda TRX 250r- coolhead, fmf pipe, 38mm carb.

    well i mean how long does it take for you guys to get it down that far, once a season. a couple years what?

    in race conditions they wear much faster of course, and Ive seen them need to be replaced after 3-4 races, and others that were weekend warriors, trail riders etc, last for many yrs, it all depends on skill level of rider,engine assembler, maintanence,weather/jetting, premix,riding conditions etc so each is diffrent, hope this helps
