    thermal dispersment coating

This sounds like it would work well on a stock 400ex oil tank, right? How much would it cost?

yes it should provide some benefit to the oil tank. its actually designed to be used on the inside of such items not only to disperse heat but to shed oil so it can be reclaimed by the oiling system.

i dont have any test data to show how much of a benefit this would be on a 400ex tank. the matt color may be appealing, however the stamped construction of the stock tank will show the surface area seeing as how this is a very thin application process.

as far as pricing, a 400ex oil tank would cost $50 to treat in a thermal barrier

i have been wondering about this since the moly coat came out, how would it hold up on footpegs? if i would at the least slow down the wear on em, i might be intrested.

i doubt it will prevent the wear on the pegs. being that they have opposable sharp corners (teeth) any coating except nickle or maybe chrome would prevent it. a coating of this nature would be worn away with the metal on the edges.
