    trail tech odometer questions

    i bought a trail tech off my freind and am not sure how to hook it up. he said on the brake somewhere and i dont have a clue as how to do this. if anyone has detailed instuctions it would help me out a get deal and pictures are welcome as well.(where it hooks up to the brake or w/e

    Yes it uses a magnet attached to the brake somehow. I don't actually have one but if you go here you get some good pics of it on a 400EX.

    did they always look like this?
    B/c mine is just a wire with a threaded bolt type thing at the end with 2 nuts on it and not the black sensor like in the pic and not magnet that is detached

    On mine you replaced one the rotor bolts with the bolt they give you that has a magnetic head. Then on the caliper bracket or somewhere (not for sure) you drill a hole and mount the other magnetic piece with the wire on it. The two should be in line when they roll around.

    thats what i have do i take the bolt off the end and put it on the brake rotor? and attach the other end to something that will be even with the bolt that i put ont he rotor?

    Thats not the right cable for the 400EX application. Call Trail Tech and get the right one, the one in the first photo you posted.
    A new sensor set up is $23.95 on there website.
