    Synthetic Oil

    HEy i WAs womdering what type of oil would be best for my prairie 650. is silkolene any good or royal purple, how long between change intervals?

    Only use a synthetic that is designed for wet clutch systems. So dont use the royal purple. I personally use Klotz 10-40 synthetic, which is a great oil, but most people dont like spending $10 a quart. Your intervals should be up to you. The more often you change it the better it is. If you ride it really hard, then change it more often.

    i use amsoil in all of my atvs love the stuff only way to go.

    service manual says 6 months...but i would probably cut that in half just to be safe. Even then, I might do it before 3 months you just never know.

    When I raced all I ran was Amsoil 0w/40...then got hooked on all Amsoil products!

    I won't run anything else.

    there are probably a lot of good brands. i run maxima ultra. the rotella is good oil for the price.

    Who carries the Rotella synthetic? I've checked all the local parts stores, haven't found it. Does the jug SAY "synthetic" on it? I found some labeled "Rotella T", but didn't have the word synthetic on it anywhere. Not to mention, it was only $8, so it seems unlikely.
