R vs. quads of the new for MX

I ride motorcross and I need a quad for MX for under $4500. It has to be light, I ride on some rough tracks. I have a Raptor and its race ready but still gay. Should I go R or Z??????

id prob go with the R over a Z but 4 strokes are the new era of racing and 2 strokes are fading kinda fast except for hte dunes and the drag where they will forever rule

penny for penny for local racing a R cant be beat. super light high HP easily moddable responds well to changes and much cheaper than quads of today. trust me i have built mine and the bottom line is much cheaper and i beat much "higher" caliber bikes with my old outdated R!

I like the 250r but what about reliablity, and compared to a 2stroke 125 motorcross bike, and how good are they for play riding?

just take good care of it and it will last. reliability is 75% owner maintenance the other 25% is luck.

the year is totally inchoherent and a 1986 would be less reliable than a 87-89 since its just older.

I think he was just refering that they have been around since then. Not that one year is more reliable than the other.

excellent. what i say is if you treat it well it will treat you well! just get everything that wears back up to spec. check your engine out. rebuild your master cylinders and new bearings and keep up on maintence you will be not as or even more reliable than quads of today!
