    CDI trouble

Does anyone know where I can get info on how to test my CDI from my 86 250R?
    Thanks

It sparks only about one in ten kicks. The guy I got it from put a new coil and stator in it and gave up. I checked all the wiring. I'm thinking the only thing left would be the CDI.

The manual gives you diagnostics for the stator, coil, basically for your entire ignition system BUT the CDI.

According to the manual, the only way to check the CDI is by process of elimination. You check EVERYTHING else. If it all checks out good, and you still have a problem, then your CDI must be bad.

I had a simular issue. But I did have an extra CDI around. The 'new' CDI didn't help. Ended up being a wire grounding issue.

Find someone in your local district and ask if you can swap CDI's quick.

I think your righ...I have to take a closer look at the wiring before I buy a new CDI. It's a little messed up. I have no idea what the guy was doing before I got it from him.
    Thanks
