Well, there are a couple, first to go would be your exhaust valves, then the head could warp, and you might burn up your piston....these are extreme cases of running lean for a long period of time. Its just like running your motor while its overheating (extreme case).

Dont ride on reserve tank
if you are running lean right now.. make sure when u are riding to let the engine cool down if it seems abnormally hot.. especially in the summer hot temps
