Jeff took his usual five second power nap at the start and then decided to start his ATK.

Bryan Cook clipped the fence heading into the second turn spinning him around facing Chris Borich. Todd Knippenberg, Santo Derisi, and Andy Lagzdins had to react quickly to get around.

Bryan wasted no time getting spun around and lead Chris and Santo into the woods chasing down the rest of the pack. The first 4 miles of the course was extremely tight and single lined. The thick Virginia underbrush made it extremely difficult to find alternative lines around riders without getting stuck.

By the end of the 1st lap William Yokley held a slim lead over Bill Ballance heading back onto the MX track around the 8 mile marker.

Amazingly, Bryan Cook and Chris Borich managed to work their way through the pack and worked their way up to third and fourth and only a few seconds behind the leaders.

The Stair Step jump was an awesome section to watch.

Matt Smiley was back to fifth, but he was in hot pursuit.

Andy Lagzdins also worked his way up to 6th place only 30 seconds behind Matt.

Jeff Stoess was well rested and on the gas as he worked his way from last to 7th place as he launced the steps with Michael Houston closing in on him. By the end of the lap, Houston was able to pass Jeff and move into 7th place.

Thomas Barrett the last Pro on a 400EX launched over the steps in 10th place behind Santo Derisi.

Todd Knippenberg lead Jared T Gruca into the MX track section, but Jared used his MX skills to move past Todd and took over the 11th place position heading into the second lap.
