    Hotcams.... how do they perform?

I was just wanting to know a few answers to some questions about hotcams. I was thinking about getting a stage 1 for my R.
If anyone has one, how does it feel power wise?
    Does it decrease reliability?
How much does it cost to get it put in?
    Is it worth it?
    Is it a noticable difference?

    thanks for you time

I doubt youll get alot of feedback because the hotcams are pretty new. It shouldnt decrease reliability, will be very worth it as long as you pipe it to. Power will depend on stage 1 or 2, bottom to mid or mid to top, yes there will be a tremendous difference. Sparks and LRD both offer cams also.
You must be fast, because I was haulin *** when I passed you!

I have the stage one,,, It was 159.00 I went direct to Hotcams right here in town, it wasn't real hard to put in but there are quite a few things that can go wrong if you don't pay close attention.
I also opened my airbox and jetted, I have a White Brothers slip on and I also removed the end cap,,, Big big difference, I have raced both MX and XC and have had great holeshots and respectable finishes, I have another MX race this Saturday and an XC race the following Saturday.
I haven't had any problems whith it at all and I love the quick revving hard hitting reponse I am getting,,,,
There are Stage 1 cams on ebay somewhat cheaper but going direct seems alot more personable.
Good luck on whatever you do... Ride Hard!!!!!!!!!

I put a Stage two in mine with a slight port job and and Love it. I can pull most anything in the straights. I got it for $139 from my dealer, and put it in my self.

I did a Stage one for a friend of mine and he is real happy with it. He regeard his and can take me out of the hole but I can chatch up and have a bit more topend on the long straights...

I know this is for 450Rs, but I have a 400ex and I have a question. Would I lose low end power if I went with a Stage II Hotcam. I have an 11:1 piston and port and polished cylinder head. Any answers would be great. Thank you.

I would say that you could pull it just fine. I don't see where you would lose much of any low end.
