    250r tranny

    I have a 250r and the other day it started getting really hard to get it to shift. If I reach down with my hand and yank the gear shifter, it would shift into the next gear but nearly impossible to ride. If I pull up on the lever sometimes it will "stick" in the up position...I have no idea what this could be, but figured I would ask you guys before I go pay someone to look at it. It doesn't feel like the shifter is locked into postion, it feels like it has a little play on the inside.

    You may have a bent shift fork, in any event it's going to have to come apart so it's time for the dreaded overhaul. Fix it right the first time and it will be like new.
