Kasea 90 wheels and tires

Hey all
My son has a 2003 Kasea 90 and the tires are just about slick. He isn't gonna be doing any racing just mostly trail riding and some MX track riding. Were in Ohio so terrain is flat to hilly, dry to muddy. So question is what size and type of tire would be good for it. I'd like to stick with the stock rims for now. Any help would br greatly appreciated.
