300ex rod into 250x engine?
are they the same? if not would it work what would it do?

wont work, the 300 has a longer stroke than the 250x.
as for what it would do, imagine what what would happen if your piston could rise farther into the combustion chamber where there isnt any room for it. it would make room, and that can get expensive to fix
