How do you know when you need a valve adjustment?

You will hear a loud "ticking" sound. It usually seems so drown out the sound of your motor too. Also, loss of power.

I have a sight "ticking" when I first start up the bike... at idle only...

I goes away when the bike warms up.

There seem to be no lose of power.

P.S. I just put on a HFM slip on and re-jetted...if that helps.
