belt problem please help

Hey everybody a my friend has an 07 outlander 800, it has 2000 miles on it and, it just broke its second belt, the first time he got it stuck and sucked water, in it and burnt up the belt and cluthes, 1,000 dollars later he got it back from the shop, and they put a cheap carlilse belt on it, this evening he was playing around and the rear wheels locked up for a minute then broke lose, now it has a thumping sound coming from the belt cover, sounds like the belt is coming apart is this because of the cheap carlilse belt, or do you guys know of a common problem with these atv's, thanks
