'03 Predator cracked frame

Hey guys, so the frame on my 03 predator broke on the right side, and from what I can see its cracked in the same spot on the left side. The location is directly in from of the upper motor mount/cross-member. On the 03's, if you're not familiar, the motor mount is removable by 4 bolts, where I'm pretty sure newer models it is welded solid.

My question is, I can obviously weld these areas, but I'm thinking of welding a triangle type shape that will run along the frame and go up into the motor mount, and in turn, welding the motor mount to the frame by use of a gusset.

Is this a good option, or is the motor mount not welded for a reason?

Anyone been through a break in this area, feel free to chime in with a possible fix.
