This past wk end kicked off the opening round of the World Offroad Championship Series (WORCS) presented by:

Round 1 was held at Speedworld Raceway in Surprise Arizona,
This would be our 1st full year of traveling the entire series and I was VERY excited to get the opportunity to do so! My family has taken interest in the WORCS series since it started in 2003 and have watch it blossom over the past few years into the largest West Coast Quads only series .
Our journey from Idaho to Arizona was nothing short of a mad dash and well over a days drive(16 hours to be exact) to be able to make it in time for the Friday practice ,sound testing and Tech inspection.
Along the way I snapped a couple of quick shots fo the Nevada Mountains
My kids didnt get off so easy with a few missed days of school :p
They took in a little piece of History along the way and learned a little about Hoover Dam located just outside of Las Vegas Nevada.
.
...
I was also excited to go and race somewhere warm for a change as temps have only been in the 20's in Idaho for quite some time .
70 degrees all wk end made for some very pleasant racing weather.
The series has addeda new class for the 2007 season-the open shifter mini class.I was REALLY excited to see the shifters get there own class as my Daughter would be running the series in the shifter open class .
Minis riders have been a HUGE sucess for the WORCS series
Mini rider Brandon Lugan from Kuna, Idaho rides the 71-90 mod. class on his Eton 90.
Brandon recently became a sponsored rider for
ExtrememiniquadsNW out of Puyallup Wash. and will be sporting one of there DRR's for the rest of the series .
ExtrememiniquadNW has several Extreme team riders that made the trip and will be running the entire series.
Another ExtrememiniquadsNW # 10y Kelsey Lugan (atvrider memberLILQJ) from Kuna Idaho.
This will be Kelseys 1st race on her newly built Blaster/CR85 in the shifter open class .
One of just a few great things about WORCS racing is there is a class for EVERYONE ! Sean Reddish makes sure that whatever age or level a rider you are, there is always a class for everyone to participate in the series .
Each year I notice more and more families getting involved in the racing scene.
Several Moms,Dads and kids all spending time as a family racing -I cant think of anything better!! :)

Some of the highlights of the wk. ends racing was most Definately the Sunday Pro/Pro Am race
There appreared to be some confusion on the course/layout/markings and sections had been bypassed so they decided to do a restart.I could see riders shaking there heads with some disapointment but the race had to be restarted to make the neccesary changes .
This was nothing short of some VERY good luck for Justin Waters in Pro Am as he and couple other riders took a tumble making mad dash for the holeshot!
Im happy to report that Justin was not seriously injured and I think gave him even more determination for a poduim finish taking home the checker with a 1st place!!
Congrats Justin!!! All I can say was that was one heck of a lucky day for you!:D
