Open A Start!
Mike Benson grabbed the holeshot with Brian Vasko right behind him. Brian jumped up from racing the stock class to Open A after running into problems at the last couple of races.
After the 1st lap, Mike Benson continued to lead the Open A Class and was flying on his new 450R.
In the End, Josh Whitehead put in the ride of his life. He finished a career best 13th Overall and Won the Open A Class on one of Chris Borich's old 250R's. I think Josh must have got some of Chris's Spirit with that quad.
Congratulations Josh on your awesome finish!
Scott Fleischhauer rode his way to 17th Overall finish and Eric Davis was thirty seconds behind him with his 19th Overall finish. Three of the Open A riders finished in the top 20 overall which is really impressive and shows the amount on talent in that class!
Congratulations Eric Davis!
Mike Benson lost lead as the race went on and finished 5th and 26th overall behind Jeffrey Pickens, which wasn't bad at all for someone who hasn't raced since Lorretta Lynn's.
Mike was extremely impressed with his new race machine and told me over and over how well the Rekluse automatic clutch worked for him. He never had to worry about stalling it, which was a big plus without an electric start.
I think I will be checking into one of those clutches for my 450R
:D
Bryan Baker is a machine!!!
He is an outstanding racer, and it show in the way he consistently puts his 500+ lb Vforce near the front of the pack. Bryan finished the last two races in the top 20 overall and finished this weekend an impressive 27th overall and 6th in the Open A Class.
It was incredible to watch him launch the Vforce over the jumps:eek:
Wes Stone returned to racing after missing the last two rounds due to crashing hard while practicing at home on his 250R. He was extremely luckily not to be severely injuried, but he still was hurt enough to be sidelined for over a month healing up, and he made his return this weekend. Ironically, the time off didn't slow him down any, but instead he had his best race of the year with a 32nd overall and 8th place finish.
It is great to have you back so soon Wes, and I wish you continued luck for the rest of the season.
If it weren't for Wes's support, I wouldn't have been able to race in Florida, so Thanks Again Wes for making it possible.
265A Class
A Class which use to be the Premiere ATV Amateur is starting to dewindle away to nothing. This round only had 6 entries and it continues to shrink.
The talent still exist in the class with Sean Neidlinger who is having an incredible year! He won his third race of the year and did it finishing 15th Overall which was a career best!
Sean is a great guy and has awesome family support. I think if he stick with it we will be hearing his name more and more.
Congraluations on the finish Sean!!!
Check out the rut he pounded through
Lee Green made his GNCC debut this year at the Patriot, and he quickly found out that existence maintenance is required before the race in order to finish the two hours without incident. He derailed his chain in the first lap, which took him sometime to get back on before he took off again.
He managed to finish three laps and finished 5th in the class, and I am sure he had a great experience.
