Cliff King would maintain the lead for the first lap with Craig Reed working his way up behind him in second place, which was incredible because Reed was riding with only one foot peg because his shifter peg came off at the start of the race.
Reed would take over the lead by the end of lap two and maintain the lead until the last lap.

Meanwhile, Kevin Wall maintained his lead into turn two with Sean DeLaney pulling in beside him. John Rowling was also off to a great start until he clipped the round bail, which sent him bailing off his 450R.
Rowling's 450R would flip over on its top with him landing on his bottom, but he would jump back up and return to the race in last place, and by the end of the lap, he was back up to 7th place
