Rick Cecco rode to a 10th place and 23rd overall finish!
Scott Samuel finished the race in 11th place!
Check out how deep that rut was he went through. It completely buried his rear tire.
After a time correction, Jeremy Rice was awarded the third Overall spot on the Podium. Jeremy manged to finish the race 10 seconds faster than Chris Borich, which dropped Chris back to 4th Overall.
You could tell that Chris wish he would have charged harder at the end of the race when the news was announced.
With Jeremy Rice taking over Chris Borich's spot on the Podium, two new comers were on the Podium(Bryan Cook and Jeremy Rice). Bill Ballance showered the crowd after his overall victory, while Bryan and Jeremy put the champagne down the hatch. You could feel the excitement in the air for the them both, but the drama was far from over!!!!
After a few riders protested, Bill Ballance, Chris Borich, and Matt Smiley for supposedly not re-entering the track asap after a section of the track became blocked. The three rode along the outside of the woods and reentered once it exited the woods.
The dispute became heated and the three riders involved tried to prove their case to Racer Productions, and it was originally decided to doc them one minute off of their time, but this would have still left Bill Ballance as the Overal Winner, so the ruling was changed to doc them all two positions.
The decision surely didn't set well with Bill because he felt 100% that he didn't do anything wrong faced with the situation. It was a very difficult decision for Racer Productions as well, and they made what they felt was the right ruling.
The result of the ruling gave Bryan Cook the Overall Win! He accepted the award, but it definitely wasn't the way he wanted to win his 1st overall. Either way you look at it, Both Bill and Bryan had great rides, and it is a shame to see the ending go down in history with controversy surrounding it.
Jeremy Rice found himself also moving up from Third to second overall after the ruling. Bill Ballance was dropped back to third overall, and I am not sure if he is going to appeal his case to the AMA/ATVA. He was wearing a helmet cam during the race, which would show exactly what happened when him and the others approached the section track.
Either way, I congratulate Jeremy Rice on another Great Race and many more to come!!!

Michael Johnston rides for ATV Addiction and has been involved in XC racing for a few years. He has attended a few races this year, but he hasn't had the best of luck with finishing until the last race at Rausch Creek where he finished 6th in the class and 44th overall. Hopefully, this was a turning point for Mike for the remainder of the year.
Tom Hertz has been pretty consistant this year finishing in the top 10 for most of the races except for the last race at Rausch Creek. Tom continues to stick with his 250R while his brother Rob has opted to move onto the 450R with great success. These two brothers are great competitors and it is great to have them involved with the sport.
Tom is currently ranked 8th in this highly competitive class.
Mike Benson finally threw in the hat on the Yamaha and switched to the 450R after only finishing 2 out of the last 6 races without problems. They weren't all directly related to Yamaha either because he snapped an axle off at Georgia which brought his day to an early end.
If Mike can finish a race, he is usually running in the top 40 overall which is pretty impressive for a guy that has been racing as long as him with competitors half his age.
Also when Mike goes out to race, he is usually on a machine that is far from stock. One of the neatest accessories he added to his 450R is the Rekluse Automatic Clutch, which he has had nothing but good things to say about it. I guess we will find out how good it works at the track.
That is one nice looking 450R!
