The Rekluse clutch would prevent the 450R from stalling easily, but it wouldn't make up for the lack of low end power lost from the stock gearing. Also, in Cross Country racing you barely ever need to go over 80mph, so the lower gearing would be more usable on a hill climb or quick acceleration to make a pass.Quote:

true if you want some good low end push but would still like to keep your top end then you might do some reasearch on Trail Tech weighted flywheel. i am running one now and i was able to take my gearing from 13/39 (great down low sucked up top) and return it to 14/39. i'm not puting the stock rear on cause i paid to much for the one i got.
that new flywheel helps alot in the woods though and still would work well with the clutch, wich i have one coming (cain't wait).
i think the $120 for the flywheel is well worth the low end traction and push plus getting you top end back. jsut food for thought.

:eek2: that R is awesome. what was the top speed of the baldwin with the vortex CDI. do they make one for the 400ex and if so do they make that big of a difference. if they do then i gotta get me one of those:eek2:
