Brandon Ballance was doing good nearing the end of the 2nd lap, but mechanical issues put him out of the race.

With 2 laps to go, I was back in the woods and couldnt hear the leader had changed, but I could tell that soon enough when the sound of Borichs exhaust told everyone that he was the man in charge!
Ballance was still close enough to chew on Borich's roost, and this thing isn't over until it's over.
How close is close? If i can get 1st thru 3rd in my lens then folks that is close! Cook had both of these guys in his sights and I can't help but think he was just waiting for them to get together and make a mistake that would allow him to roll right on by:cool:
I worked my way to the finish area to see what everyone else wanted to see, who was going to come out of the woods and what was going to happen in the last set of turns leading to the checkered flag.

The entire section surrounding the finish line was packed, as everyone waited. How long till they are due in seemed to be question number one.
Finally, they came ripping into the field section and at each turn the crowd leaned further into the fencing trying to take in every piece of the action as they headed our way.
The last straight and a small ditch was all that stood between Borich and his first win of 2007. The ground was covered as Ballance trailed Borich into the last obstacle unchallenged, settling for second as chris took the checkers and put Steele Creek's #1 plaque on his wall!
