With determination in his eyes, Chris Borich roost out of his pits looking to close the gap on Yokley and Ballance before the end of the race.
Just over 20 seconds later, Jeremy Rice pulls into the pits to get some fresh goggles from his father before heading out for the last lap in season best 4th place.
Moving up from 9th place to 5th place was Todd Knippenberg as he too stopped for goggles, but his best race of the season would end in the 2nd lap when his chain would derail after his rear sprocket became bent from rubbing into his rear skid plate.
Andy Lagzdins made his way past Rhett Butler once again and moved his way up to 11th place without goggles, and he decided that he wasn't going to waste anytime stopping for goggles either for the 3rd lap as he blasted his way quickly into the top 10 overall at the beginning of the 3rd lap by not stopping, but would his strategy pay off with 30 minutes of racing without goggles ahead of him?
Amazingly, Scott Barron had charged his way into the top 5 Overall heading into the 3rd lap and continued to lead the Pro Am Class and also wasn't stopping for any goggles to slow him down.
#66 Adam McGill was wasting anytime either as he put in the fastest Pro Am 2nd lap time of 31:08 and moved to within 13 seconds of Scott Barron as he charged in 7th Overall behind #18 Johnny Gallagher.
Just over a minute behind Adam in 3rd was #28 Chris Bithell, but his hard charge would come to a stop when he would get hung up on the last lap and lose several minutes and drop back to 11th place.
One of the first riders to be claimed was Bill Ballance as he attempted to get around a lapper he found himself hung-up on a log, which required him to get off his Yamaha to free himself, which was enough time to allow William Yokley to move in and take back over the lead.
Bill quickly tracked down William again and passed him only to find himself stuck in a bottleneck, which William Yokley once again took advantage off and found a line around Bill and the rest of the bottlenecked riders, which put William back into the lead.
With less than a mile to go, Bill reeled back in William in hopes up making the pass before the checkered flag on one of the multiple line hill climbs near the finish.
Bill’s opportunity arose when William took a line up the hill that appeared smooth, but it became extremely rough at the top, so Bill picked the line beside of it in hopes of passing William at the top of the hill, and everything was going as planned until Bill encountered a log across the climb, which caught his front tire as he went over it and sent him into a tree bordering the track, which brought him to a stop.
To make things worse, Bill’s battery was dead, so he had to quickly spin his Yamaha around and drift down the hill to pop start it. In the process of pop starting his machine, Jeremy Rice came up the hill and made the pass on Bill to take over 2nd place.
