4 Stroke A
Vet
Jeff Brest left the rest of the vet riders sleeping on the line with his Service Honda 450R on the start ,which starts to happen to riders over the age of 30 like myself :D
With Brest in the lead, Vet Class newcomer Thomas Wright wasted no time getting back into the same groove and he pulled in behind Brest with Scott Smalley right beside him.
Wright would pass Brest and take over the lead by the end of the lap with Jay Subrick moving into 2nd place ahead of Jeff Brest followed by Byran Davis and Kenneth Tincher. John Rowlings was off to his worst start of the year since switching to Vet and was back to 11th Place, but he was hard on the gas as he worked his way through the pack.
#142 Gary Belbeck (Popo) still has one of the best looking Z400's at the track, which gets easier with each passing race as there seems to be fewer of them on the line after each race :(
Belbeck trained over the summer to reduce his muscle cramping and with the help of Cardio Stack he completed three laps and finished his best overall of the season:macho
Congrats Gary!!!
Junior
Jeffrey Vensel would grab the Holeshot in a class that seems to be slowingly fading away since Honda dropped its contigency and many of the riders jumped ship to the Vet Class.
Jeffrey would lead the first four laps of the race over and pull a four minute lead over Timothy Gale in 2nd place, but he would never complete the last lap, which gave Timothy Gale the Win and Pete Stadtmueller had his best race of the season finishing in 2nd place ahead of Kevan Logston.
Chuck Glacken was off to a good start with Timothy Gale right behind him, but he would clip a tree early in the first lap, which popped the bead on his tire.
He didn't have any spares, so headed over the Maxxis truck and they quickly rebeaded the tire, so he could return to the race. The race didn't turn out as well as Chuck might have liked, but he can't wait till his next chance to race, which might be at Powerline Park.
Senior / 2 Stroke A/B
#87 Jim VanLockie lead the way for the Senior Class with Brian Edwards and Ken Campbell right behind him on their 250R's battling for the 2 Stroke lead.
New York Resident, Gordon Koester broke out his LT250R QuadRacer to compete in the Senior Class for his first GNCC race ,and he finished 9th in the Class.
4 Stroke B
Brett Marksbury would lead the way early, but he would drop back to 19th by the end of the first lap and out of the race. Michael Howell would take over the lead ahead of Donald Ockerman with Howell leading every lap and taking the win.
Michael Novak and Shawn Dunn would lock wheels heading through turn one and it would take several people to separate this tight bounded pair as the Honda became more acquainted with the Yamaha.
It must have been too much for the Honda 400EX as Dunn only completed one lap, but Novak would make a great comeback and work his way from 28th place to a 8th place finish :macho
