Within a few hundred feet of the end of the 3rd lap, I made a costly mistake and smacked a tree almost head on with my left front tire and about broke my forearm and bit my lip. The pain was intense, so I tried to shake it off with TJ Lenig right behind me witnessing the entire event as we went throug the scoring tent only 1 second apart.
Michael Sroka remained in chase only 17 seconds back in 5th place.
As the battle out front continued between Chris and Jarrod, the battle for 3rd was just as intense between myself and TJ. I did everything I could to keep TJ from getting past me, but I knew that if I couldn't pull away from him by the field section that he would easily walk past me at the end.
As the lap continued, my arm began to swell up from the impact, but I still held my ground until the 4.5 mile mark when TJ and I took different lines up the hill climb and TJ was able to out power me up the hill and take over the 3rd spot as I came in right behind him at the top of the hilll
As Chris and Jarrod were battling for the lead a spectator placed a vine across the track which caught Chris in the throat and almost knocked him off his quad, but he was able to hold on to his quad and the lead to take the checkered flag for his 1st Overall Win with Jarrod McClure on his rear bumper in 2nd Overall
TJ was easily able tio pull away from me in the fields and to earn 3rd overall and his 2nd Podium appearance.
After a string of DNF races, it was great to see the checkered flag with a 4th overall finish. Last year, I finished consistently in the top 7 overall, so it was disappointing to see everything falling apart on me this season, so I was forced to make some changes in my program to try to get back in the top 5, and I can't wait till Loretta's for another chance at the podium.
Will Cashion finished out the race with a 9th place finish.
TJ Whited finished right behind Cashion in 10th
Dave Bishop must have a thing with 12 because he finished 12th for the 3rd time this season
Neither of the Derrick Brothers completed the race with Nathan only getting in 3 laps and Andy was out after only 2 laps.
