Although riders enter the top of Mt. St. Helens from a different angle they still use the steep down hill decent where riders had to be hard on the rear brakes to set up for a sharp left hander at the bottom. Viewable is Farr’s marginal lead over the rest of the pack.

Tim Farr looks as though he were riding on a different day away from the mud, as he's the cleanest on the track and will remain that way the entire moto.

Gust looks back to see who is creeping up on him although no one would take his position from him.

Keith Little and John Natalie duke it out as Little will remain in the lead as he finishes in seventh while the Ironman finishs the moto in ninth.

Dustin Wimmer and the comeback Travis Spader share a berm. Wimmer holds his own against the returning champion and will hold him off for and eighth place moto finish while Spader finished 10th.

Tavis Cain was making an impressive showing but ended the moto with a DNF after an unfortunate occurrence landed him and his machine in a ravine after he went over the embankment at the top of the “little” hill. While Cain would be shaken but okay, his team was forced into overdrive to get the machine ready in time for the second moto.

No. 8, Jason Luburgh may have begun the moto with a top notch drive, he would suffer a broken battery cable sending him to the back with a 19th place finish for the moto.

Joe Haavisto of New Ipswitch, New Hampshire shows in his face just how exhausting twenty minutes can be along with adding wet conditions which forced him to remove his goggles. He would finish the moto in 15th.
