The Pro Am field was filled with North Carolina residents. Nearly half the racers in both classes were from the state, including Robby Cooke who signed up for Pro Am Production aboard his Yamaha.

The practice is broke up into sessions, limiting the number of riders on the track at once, and giving riders a chance to make modification in between sessions to improve their lap times.
Tim Farr and his crew had an assortment of tires to pick from at trackside, and Mark Baldwin made some minor adjustments to his Honda TRX450 between sessions.

Darin Ogden explained to his Father & Pit Chief, Floyd Ogden, how his Honda was handling the course, which is one of the best things about racing, how it brings friends and family together for atleast a few weekends a year

Only a short time after practice, it was time for the Pro Am Production and Pro Am Unlimited heats to run to determine the starting order for the Main.

#22 Brad Covington put his Yamaha out front early with #12 Keith Little in hot pursuit and #2 Darin Ogden rounding out the top three after the 1st lap.
