Looking into this young mans eyes, one can see the concern. The hill directly after the scoring area was going to be a rough one!
The first 2 laps did not draw much attention, that was about too change!
The first indications alot of us at the scoring area had to the way the race was going, started at the end of the second lap. Riders began having difficulty navigating the downhill section just prior to the scoring area.
This rider slides into the tree and looks back up the track to see who was about to join him:(
Keleman came rollin in and was off to work on the field ahead of him!
After Keleman came past me, I could have swore I saw Cody Hill a few spots back coming down the hill. When some time passed, I walked over to the oppisite side of the scoring area. The offcamber had become so slick, quads were piling up in the ditch along side the road:eek: Just after this picture, I spotted my son, standing beside his quad which was upside down:p
GNCC crew members were doing everything they could to get those wrecked back on track, and to try and keep more quads from getting caught up in the mess!
As fast as they could, Jeff Russell and others re routed the course for a more safe approach to the scoring area.
The hill after the start really started breaking down, and as groups of racers would clear the scoring tent, the fun began!
Soon, this section became so slick that almost every rider was getting some form of help to get up it or around stuck riders.
