Many great riders came out to race in the expert classes this weekend. Although they all came to compete, this weekend was Jason Dunkelburgers weekend. Dunk cleaned both classes, both days. Mostly guided by great holeshots, Dunk showed what it takes to be a pro after a wipeout in the whoops that set him nearly back to the back in his qualifier. On this tight track, he made passing look easy and sent himself into the final.
Dunk passing two riders on the turn just before the tripple. Dunk was the only quad to do the tripple this weekend.
The double double series was conquered by two riders. Steve Dibble and Jason Dunkelburger cleared the long second double, putting on a show for the fans. Here is Dibbler setting up for the second double.
this is one of my favorite shots from this weekend. Although dark, I like it. This is Dunk hitting the (step down into single) Tripple.
#55 Andy Ehrenzeller suffered a broken axle in the Expert Production qualifier. He was well on his way to qualifying for the main if it wasn't for this set back.
His crew replaced his axle in no time. Andy responed to their help with a 3rd overall finish in the Open Expert class.
