I'm thinking its that moose polly case saver that saved it.
By the looks of the picture the shifter shalf only bent where it was extended out of the case saver, not at the case it self.

I think the case saver helped too. Could have been alot worse
All parts are in, should have some updates soon!
One guy said the shaft will come out without pulling the basket. Is this true. Doesnt seem like it will. Also, the shaft is bent all the way up to the case. How much space is there within the cases. I dono if im explaining well enough, but basically will a bent shaft slide through the case or does it have to be perfectly straight?
on the 04-05 bikes the shaft will not come out unless the clutch basket it out. the 06+ bikes you can take the shaft out without touching the basket. If the shaft is bent you will probably have to cut it off where it comes out of the cases, its a pretty tight fit and any kind of visible bend will probably keep it from coming out
Right on thanks. Any good home mechanic ways of holding the basket/hub from turning to break the nut loose?
I made my own clutch tool by taking 1 old fiber and 1 old steel clutch plate and riviting them together.
Slide it into the basket and nothing will move.
For taking it off u can just use an impact gun. Need a tool to put it back on with the torque wrench though.
Well finally got this done over the weekend. I'll post some pics of what I had to do to get the shaft out. Went pretty smooth. I did end up having to pull the motor to have room to cut the shaft flush with the case. I was buttoning it up putting the pressure plate with an impact and boom, sheared the head of one of the bolts off. So I have to get that out. I was rushing to wrap it up and did that. Smh
Those clutch bolts get fatigued. Pull the hub out, drop a BB in the bottom side and thread another bolt from the backside. It'll spin the broken bolt out.
I'll be shocked if that works! lol Thanks for the tip
