that was a great race at mill creek does anyone have word about winchester? and who saw the creamer crash that was bad.. can anyone tell me where to get pics of the 4-stroke c class? atvriders pics only seem to have a class, and minis in there photo section
Thats kinda funny, From what I was told by Doug he doesn't run his shocks stiff at all, in fact the 4 years I raced I ran his shocks and it didn't feel to bad to me lol.Quote:

But man that man lets the quad beat him, I heard some guys talking from suzuki that doug likes his shocks stiff, next time you watch with pay attention. it seems like has 300 pounds in the fox shocks hahahahahaha looks like he is riding on two-by-fours hahahaha bless his heart.
Wimmer on the other hand is the pickest person when it comes to a quad. They said his steering steem was a 1/4 inch shorter on one of his bikes and he noticed it before he even rode. so i bet setting his bike up is a mess hahah but once its dialed in look what the kid does.... suzuki still has the best team, but I think if more people could keep bikes together it might be a different story
As for his finishes this year, It would help if he could get out of the first corner without a pile up. That does kinds set you back. If you looked at the forum from CA he was 20+ seconds down from the last place guy and caught up to 13th. Also, the first race in AL he got a flat tire from the first corner crash and being way back in the pack caught up to 10th (finishing the race...thank god for tire balls) on a track that was kinda one lined and very fast.
Doug may be one of the older ones out there but he is still one of the fastest!! He got a pretty good start in the second moto and took a 5th. Better than 15 other riders.
Suzuki had no reason to cut Doug last year with or without a contract. He took 3rd overall and if he didn't have the 2 DNF's in NY he would of had second overall. Last time I checked that was way better than where Chad finished for the season. He had 2 wins last year and about 15 other riders that still have not won a pro race.
So, at 42 years old riding better than 75% of the pro class I think he has every right to keep kicking *** out there. Not that I know anything about the sport or anything. :-)
And just a little reminder I think Doug had a little part in designing the LTR,...you know that yellow quad that is out there winning every race and finishing every race too. There is way more to Doug than just kicking butt on the track.
I heard Doug is the reason Chuck Norris will not attend a race:chinese:
OOPS, I guess I thought Doug was a lil older. My bad.Quote:

Twas my first GNC at Muddy Creek when Doug broke his ankle(s). Now talk about stiff shocks! The best were stiff compared to todays shocks.
Then the Come back tour for Doug (as I call it) for friend Darren Naccarato(sp). I remember at Deerfield, mama Nac crying. She was that into Dougs racing as was papa Nac.
He ran TC motors then with John Lawson as Dougs driving force, mechanic, and friend for years.
A quote from TC "Just run it!" Remember that Doug? LOL
Then comes Zuki. Wayne Hinson was the brains behind the biggest thing to happen to ATV racing ever. Of course Doug was first on the list. You gotta give credit for Doug taking John Lawson with him as the Zuki truck driver. Doug remembers his friends IMO.
Doug deserves every bit of recognition possible as he's earned it.
Suzuki is lucky to have him. :)
At least that's how I remember all that. LOL, I am older than Doug (51), maybe the mind is going. :D :D
I have nothing but admiration for Doug and respect everything he has contributed through the years and also for what he will do for the sport in the future. This is one of the toughest sports out there, and for anyone to compete and be a top rider (as he is) should have everyones (riders and spectators) respect.
Keep up the good work Doug.......Cindi don't let these forums get to you, you know how they are.
Thank You! Sometimes I just like to set it straight to some of the forum racers that think they have it figured out. Not that they were talking Doug down. There is always more to a race than people know like flat tires, blown shocks and many other problems that these riders don't let most know. They just suck it up, keep the quad running and do the best they can to finish the race.Quote:

Hats of to Miller and Creamer for getting back up and finishing the race after the terrible crash they both went through.
NO DOUBT!!!Quote:

I personally root for doug every weekend he's on the track!!
I loved it last year at Ballance's when i was there to witness his win!!!!
You have it correct. I'll have to remember you when we are putting the stuff together for "The Life & Career of Digger Doug Gust From The Beginning" You know back in the day when they would put plastic milk jugs on the handle bars for hand guards and Duct Tape was a must. These kids wouldn't know what to do if they had to race the machines those guys did 20 years ago. I will be in touch for some of the old stories :-) ThanksQuote:

Thanks. This is another perfect story as I said above. There is always more to a race than people know. Doug has a 12 second lead on everyone and with 3 laps to go his tranny went out. He knew if he shifted he would be done so he left it in 2nd and finished the race. Natalie was the only one that caught him but Doug still got the overall.Quote:
