Ok...so why all the preamble to the coverage?
Well, I think it is of utmost importance to try and get more folks to these events. I want to show you that you can go race a National event with the basic equipment you should already have and if you dont like it, well you haven't spent two hours beating your machine senseless in XC , or cased a jump you had no business trying anyway in mx.
And please, don't think this is a cake walk but I would suffice to say it is probably one of the easiest and funnest races you can try. Maybe you stick with it or maybe you decide to try a MX or XC race, point is, get out there and TRY it!!

And for those that have never been to a race like this, the start is a bit different then MX or XC. A stop-light goes from yellow to green and green means hammer that puppy!

Ok, back to the coverage!
The turn out was kind of low for the series this round, and it was for other series as of late as well. The bad economy has all but the diehards staying home to conserve what funds they do have.
The racing started early with a practice on friday evening and resuming saturday morning for qualifying and heat races

The Pro Am Unlimited class was off the chain! The class usually features some of the fastest up and coming riders and is a thrill to watch!
Wyatt Reed #792 would get out of the 1st turn first as this heat race was underway

This race would offer split divisions as a region series would pay points as well as the EDT series.
Phillip Smith would put in an excellent ride and take 1st in heat1 for his division

Kirby Cooke would run up front, but would suffer from a blown tire and not fare so well in this class. He would redeem himself later in the day.

Jordan Clemons grabbed the holeshot on Production B in heat 1. Jordan would race to a 3rd place finish in his heat race

Travis Guess would go a bit high on a berm and flip his LTR over. He was back out and pitching it sideways in no time!

The racing was non stop through the morning and midday hours. Racers were constantly on the gate with the exception of a few breaks to water and fix holes in the track

Jordan Kaufman used to be found racing a Super Mini in the MX National series. Here he is now running a Z400!
Kaufman would ride to a 2-2 in Schoolboy Senior
