like said before, the bigger tire gives a better "angle of approach" when going over rocks and logs, etc. bigger the tire, faster you'll fly over rough terrain.

YEP:D
ive had a set of both..i would go with the HD's. i never had to put any plugs in mine. they are both a great tire, but if i had to choose again, i would go with HD's. good luck
You see how hard I ride bfrank, and I've never had to plug a sidewall. *knocking on wood* Gotta few in between my lugs, but they were all from nails/screws. And I really like the GNCCs too. I'm prolly gonna put the rears on next time we ride, just cause I think they'll really dig.
i have never got a flat in a raz2 tire yet...front or rear.knock on wood. except the broken, jagged limb that was behind some foilage i hit on the 250r at about 30 mph .it almost made me crash i hit it so hard. thank god for the dampner. it cut a 2" slit in the side wall. that would have happened to any tire though. you do have to shave the little nipples off maxiss tire near the bead or they can leak. the itp tires i had seemed to pop off the bead pretty easy also. but that was in the 90,s though.
I would think that the administrator of this place (ATVriders.com) would have a respectable opinion on just about any part. They built a XC 450R, all-out, race ready, bad*** machine, and choose the HDs front and rear. Didnt go into why/ whynot, although they did put tireballs in them, I think would have done that with ANY tire they put on the bike. By the way, they put a WHOLE LOT of money in that thing!! Its really nice!!
OK
I didnt mean anything by that, just pointing it out. And actually, I just noticed that that thread is 3 years old! Wow, oops! But anyway, wasnt directing that toward you, just making a comment. Chill
keep an eye out for the new maxxis gncc tire to come out soon !!! gotta try em out.
I really like most of their products and can only imagine what they have up their sleeve! I just re uped on tires, so I wont be getting a set, but would love to try em out. Do they have a picture of them out yet?
