With a shortened course, it was in no time that the leader found his way back to the scoring area. From my vantage point, i could see riders as they diced in and out of trees across a large open marsh and the yellow DS of Sturdivant was no where to be seen! I figured he would be riding the wheels off the thing as he made up time, but it wasn;t looking good as the seconds ticked away. the leader ripped past me and was gone!

The riders were covered in a wet coating of water and mud as they completed lap 1

By the end of the end of the first lap, Joshua Dains had placed his 300ex solidly nto the top 10!

Easily 2 minutes down, Sturdivant was finally in sight and charging hard!

The laps were being run in the 12 to 15 minute range by most, and it looked like the track was really running in as the quads ripped apart the soft top layer of muck.

After the second lap, whatever had Sturdivant held up was a memory as he was riding in top form, cutting through lappers and surpassing the leaders overtaking the lead!

The mostly stock DS 450 was now in charge and out front as it clawed it's way around the course.

Goggles were being tossed as they were more of a hinderence then helpful as they became caked with mud and then drowned in a milky brown coating.

Back in the woods, the riders had some seriously rutted and whooped out track to contend with, and the hillclimbs were so slick you could barely walk up them!

As long as you kept up the momentum, getting to the top wasn't that bad
