Matthew Close had his Kasea on fire heading for the first turn.
Cutting the corner short got Close out of the chewed up turf and he pulled hard grabbing ground on the rest of the class. Smart racing at this age is not uncommon anymore, and in this series its becoming clear these young riders have the head for this sport!
Kyle Hellyer followed suit and this class was off to the woods!

Kyle Riley was told by the GNCC officials if he wanted to race he would be forced to run the 70 class aboard his Cobra 70. While this may or may not be the best choice, Kyle was eager to get his quad out front and up in the hunt for an overall.
Kyle quickly grabbed the holeshot of the 70 class, follwed by #838 Micheal Mussi. Mussi was really pumped up about this race and wanted nothing more to take home a win!
Riley was the first out of turn 1 and headed after the other classes.
By the time I was able to get to the scoring area, I caught up with the 70 class. Kyle Riley was scored, then pulled off the course. He later explained that he had clipped a tree and once refired, he rode so hard catching Mussi that arm pump did him in.
Micheal Mussi rolled thru the first lap and hammered his quad up the slick hill. I had my fingers crossed that he could finally get a win in his class!
Fowler at the start of lap 2, prepares to get a goggle change. Walker had a 55 second lead over second place at this point in the race!
As the riders started coming in to be scored, each one showed the effects of 2 miles of mud!
