My 416 is similar...all kinds of power--wheelies like crazy on pavement/hard pack--but enough power thru the powerband to smoke 250R's and LT250R's in drags UNTIL 5TH GEAR (6th for them), when they pull away SLOWLY...
3 questions for ya:
1. Will the 16T front require me to add links to my chain? I have the stock chain--i'm sure its stretched a bit, but will I need a new (longer) chain if I get a 16T front? Or is a quick chain adjustment all i'll need?
2. Will I noticeably lose bottom end? (see my motor mods below)
3. Any idea what the 16T adds for top end? Will I be able to keep up with the 250R's, even when they are in 6th?
Thx

1) No I did not have to add links to my chain, but you will have adjusting to do.
2) You will lose some bottom end but Mine still launches great.
3)My 426 will beat a stock raptor and will keep within 2 to 3 lengths with a piped and jeted raptor. Not sure about a stock 250r's, stock banshee's no problem.

Doug Eichner runs the 16/36 gearing on his Duncan 440 and also has a case saver at that....Try contacting Duncan Racing about one.
You basically get the same gearing ratio of the stock 15/38 20"
with switching to the 16/36 18" or so the math says so :D

Thx 426ex.
With stock gearing on my 416, I too am within 2-3 lengths of a piped/jetted Raptor in drags....(have not dragged a stock one) and can pull modded 250R's thru 4th gear in drags...then they all pass me (slowly) at top speed and run away. So adding the 16T front, my quad should have enough power to pull it off the line, and give me the top end I need to stay with these guys thru 5th...or at least a bit closer.

Yeah, I've heard of case savers fitting with a 16T front, but I want to keep the stock chain guard....which apparently can be done with some minor grinding work done to the guard...
