The color needs to be seen in person. Its actually black, with a ton of tiny red flake. The red anodizing matches perfectly. It turned out a little more reddish than I had expected, but I'm happy with it. I have about 6 more nuts/bolts that need chromed and I have a few more billet pieces that need anodized.
The motor is on first bore, ported mid/top 4-mil stroker, 38 A/S.
I think I'm gonna agree with havinnoj, I think sand bikes need some paint. I am going to paint the plastics/ seat within a year or so.. It's been a tough decision because I'm scared how it will hold up, but I've come this far...
I am finishing an 86 right now that will be my play bike.
I am going to do a frame up on my wifes 86 next year.

you gotta love the heat tape

Hey Boomport, that's a sweet duner. I see you're running 9 paddles, what's all done to the engine?
First bore- Just mid-top port and 4mil stroker-38 a/s carb, lightened flywheel.
When I bought the bike, the motor just had clean up porting, stock carb, had K&N, V-force reeds, Paul Turner pipe (dented by the frame, eventually had a huge crack at the frame mount) and had 10 paddles.. It was retarded to ride... haha. I immediatley sold the tires, and I tried some 8 paddles and could not stand them either!! I don't know what it was about the 8 paddles.
Before I rebuilt the motor, I put the 38 a/s on, lightened the flywheel, and bought the 9 paddles. If you kept the R's up and dumped the clutch, It would launch very good, but the bike just didn't have enough power. I would have to feather the clutch and downshift a lot when hill climbing.
With the new motor the R's stay up very easily and it has a great amount of power for not being a big bore. I have only had the bike out once this year, and had some motor problems right off the bat, but the 9 paddles seemed to work great. I will give you more input when I take the bike out again.
by the way, I love your bike man.
Thanks bro. Those red fullbores you got look great, but some custom paint work to go with the candy frame color would make it sick.Quote:
