2004 GNCC Round #3 General PM Race

Just a couple of thoughts

1) Who is going to clean the lense off every 5 minutes???
2) what happens if it is muddy?
3) what happens if jeff takes a spill into the water and the camera goes under? can it with stand that? or it gets hit on a branch and breaks. jeff you better race slower to make sure that camera is OK and getting good footage.
4)How well will the camera hold up to dusty conditions? like millfield 2 years ago.
5) most importantly! Will racer Production let you profit off of their event with out them getting a cut off of it?

I am not saying it is a bad idea. those are just some thoughts that popped in my head while reading this!!

Hey GNCCer,
I run a helmet cam. I didnt run it at either Fl or Ga..
Fl was to muddy and the camera lens would have been full of mud the first 500 yards.
As for GA we got there to late and didnt have time to set it up.

Now to answer a few of your questions.
1..ONly have to clean the lens off if its muddy.

2...If its muddy not worth it to run.

3...First of all you carry it in a fanny pack on the back side of yourself. If you carry it in a fanny pack even wrapped in bubble wrap inside a plastic bag and end up in the water, the water will find a way inside the camera.
There are speacial cases you can get that are waterproof and those run anywheres from $400-800.

4...Dust is no problem.

5....I have no answer to that. My guess they would want some of the action and then in that case its not worth all the hassle to do it in the first place.

You could always still do it and sell it some sort of bootleg way on the internet.

ill be running my helmet cam at the SPARTA GNCC, the two ohio gncc's, possibly the wisp, and for sure the IRONMAN. I'll be in in the morning race though, but i can still download the video onto the computer to show u guys. I ran mine at a MXC(MIdwest XC) rACE 2 weeks ago and it was very muddy and it didnt affect the camera at all..the picture was perfect all race!

it very well could be. harlen coded the pictures and im not fully used to it yet. if i made a mistake...tackle me in the mud at a race:devil:
