Chris Borich locked up his rear brakes and pitched his Honda sideways and slide it in front of the scoring tent sideways to take the win dramatic fashion.
The scorer quickly scanned Borich as Bill Ballance came in right behind him to shack his hand for a great battle for the lead to the finish.
William Yokley held onto the final podium spot with a third place finish, but he obviously found some new lines along the way as he had two sticks wrapped up in his swingram as he crossed the finish line.
Matt Smiley was able to make the pass on Chris Jenks before the end of the lap to take the 4th spot. The two exchanged words and a hand shack after the race.
Matt and his crew still couldn't believe the odds of Polaris being turned off from a rock in the beginning of the race, but Matt proved he will be a contender this year with his dramatic charge to finish 4th on his new Poloaris ride for 05.
A large crowd gathered around the podium as the top three finishers prepared to describe the race.
William Yokley thanked all his sponsor for their support as he described the details of the race.
William Yokley's thoughts on the race:
"It was a pretty tough race, and I really liked the track because it was physically and mentally challenging”.
Bill Ballance finished 2nd Overall with some blood on his nose from a rock off of Chris's tire.
Bill Ballance explantion of his battle with Chris Borich:
"We passed each other about a half a dozen times through the race back and forth and I saw a spot or two that I thought would work on the last lap, but on the last lap one of the place had a couple of spectators, so I couldn’t pass and just about made the one spot stick at the end of the race, but it did happen. It was a good day for me though, and I finished just like I did last year."
Bill Ballance hasn't won the opener the past three years, but went on to win the Championship in each of them.
