looks like Far's team found the right power combo for this year. It just takes a little time. Gust was on a Suz for 3 years and they found thier's. Congrats to Far & Baldwin!!! it's sweet to see pros finally chekin out the potential of the R.;) :D thanx for the great coverage
Yeah, thats the word. I guess Honda is developing some new stuff for the Honda. THe motor that Tim ran at Glen Helen was not touched by Sparks. In fact, i think it was all Honda and Baldwin just put it all together. Also, i think its pretty cool that Mark and Wayne do most of the tuning on the PEP shocks, and the riders that are riding Elka have Precision COncepts, and Noleen doing the tuning. Noleen is tuning Byrds Axis shocks too!

as a few people have mentioned, the new age suspension componets are just as good as that T-Pin front end has ever been

not sure if anyone took notice to things that I saw on Farr's bike that was different from last year. He not running any sparks stickers......... his pipe isn't DG........ it's a White Brothers and he has white brothers stickers on his bike now......... I think that his motor was tuned by White Brothers this year......... which is who does the dirtbike motors for Honda. and I did notice the walsh front end on his 450R as well........
Baldwin is doing all the tuning on the engine. White Brothers is just doing the exhaust. That all has to do with whose going to pay you the most. DG never did make tims exhaust, they just put their stickers on it. Tim was running all Walsh stuff even their savior rear end. Mark said that works better than the linkage that he makes to work with the laeger and stock stuff. He also said that the Walsh front end works just as good as the pro-trax front end. Right now Walsh stuff is expensive and nearly impossible to get, thats why Baldwin isnt selling his stuff, but it looks like he will be running Walsh this year.
gah i cant believe how many people are running walsh......then again its some very nice stuff. oh and why did dunk switch to ohlins?
I can't say because I've never ridden Walsh stuff, but it would have to be pretty sweet to beat the t-pin setup. Might have to try some. I have noticed that Pro-Trax front ends are becoming scarce. I don't know why, they work awesome. Alot of the people new to the sport that look at my bike don't even notice the difference and have never even heard of it. Get out a mid 90's Dirtwheels and check out the National coverage. Lot's of Laeger stuff. I don't know what happened. Maybe he doesn't give out sponsorships like he used to.
This is the way it should be. Tim should have been getting the same treatment as the bike guys from the start. It just goes to show how much technology Honda has at it's fingertips. Tim's motor for this season is probably right on par w/ the motor that Carmichael ran in his 450 for the 04' nationals. Farr's 450 seems to be more of a "true factory machine" this year.
