Rear engine mount and Cross Bar

I have noticed that on some TRX250R 88/89 frames, the rear cross bar has been removed. I noticed that on the Walsh chassis's there is no bar in the first place. Is the removal of this bar practical? What about removing the bar on the LRD ATTITUDE aluminum frames?

Please let me know if cutting this bar, and grinding the beads smooth is a good idea as I am working on a conversion and don't want to proceed until I know I can cut the cross bar and remove the engine mounts without compromising the structural integrity of the frame.
