2008 GNCC Racing - Round #7 "The Spartan" Live ATV Race Coverage

I will do my best to get some photo and info up this evening as the hotel internet is working just about as well as the crappy sub I had delivered for dinner at 11pm....yuck!

The weather was warm this evening, and the t-storm alerts are going off non-stop as they move into the area. The forecast i good, and the area could use just a splash of the wet stuff!

The atmosphere is so laid back you would think there wasn't a national race on for tomorrow! I broke out the fisheye for some fun with folks at registration

The rolling hills of Kentucky are exactly what best describes the area, and the couse look to be difficcult to follow for fans as it is run out in them thar' hills!

Registration was a snap at 8pm, with virtually no lines to deal with

This round will mark the emergence of Rath Racing and Team Polaris in the GNCC Series. I hope they brought their A game, there will be no mercy spared on them as the series front runners will look to dominate the respctive classes

The pit area is spread out, and it was not uncommon to feel like the attendence numbers are way down. I did not ask for the number of entries, it;s just being so vast it's hard to get a grasp on who all had arrived

As usual, casual conversation breaks out at almost anytime, adding to the family atmosphere found in the series

And you can always count on some humor and good old American pride!!

Arriving late always bums me out, and getting creative and artistic gives way to exhaustion as the sun set on Sparta

Raceday pix "Digital Dave" still had enough energy to throw big John a hand and still show everyone he has some muscles! Dave has been training for his upcoming Industry race at Yadkinville. Go get'em Dave!!

With no angry crowds to register this evening, the ladies at registration were full of smiles
